As a multimedia journalist, Brooke currently serves as a Breaking News Video Reporter with The Daily Beast at their New York City headquarters, mixing and editing short-form videos for story packages and compilations for digital platforms. Previously, she was the chief web editor at WRNN-TV FiOS1 News in the New York-metropolitan area, managing multiple online sites for the company’s regional viewers. She managed social media content and digital crowdsourcing, viewer engagement, and online reporting. Prior to WRNN-TV, she was a digital producer with Yahoo News for national and international news, worked with AOL as a a video producer and editor, and worked with Digital First Media in Project Thunderdome.
Apart from her corporate experience, Brooke also has a background in hosting live events, TV and digital show segments, as well as conducting on-air scripts and live-recordings for radio broadcast.
She is also the creator of #herSTORY, a lifestyle blog geared towards the emotional trials, uplift, and everyday lives of black women. She looks forward to furthering the movement as a means to take women out of their stereotypical character types and into a realm where they can not only be respected as equals in society, but consciously see it within themselves as well.
Based in New York, Brooke is originally from Ohio, byway of Kentucky. A graduate of the University of Virginia, she has a deep passion in cultural and social issues. Her hope is to not only deliver compelling stories, but to also spread awareness among multiple audiences.
