My 2014 Resolutions – Quirky, But True

With the New Year rolling in in less than 12 hours, I actually have a few resolutions that I would like to accomplish for 2014.  Typically, I’m not the resolution kind of gal and always maintain a steady list of goals; however, I actually want to start off on the right foot and keep going along a positive path.  Of course, these are not my only goals for the year, but these are the ones that I’ll definitely have to keep in mind to maintain a conscious effort.

Adopting a Somewhat Victoria’s Secret Angels Diet

Victoria’s Secret Angels

These girls really do have some banging bodies, and having flat abs does nothing less than make a girl feel super confident in herself.  Personally, I love looking at myself in the mirror after maintaining a strict diet and spending some heavy time in the gym (don’t judge me).  So, for 2014, I would love to try and adopt the Angels’ diet routine.  They’re known to only eat raw or steamed vegetables, drink plenty of water, and they snack about every 2-3 hours to keep a high metabolism.  The rest will just come naturally.  Remember, I said to SOMEWHAT adopt their diet; I still have to eat chicken and dairy products on occasion.  Not to mention that raw vegetables will get pretty boring after awhile.  Nonetheless, sex kitten bodies are the way to go.

Get Finances in Order

Limited-Finances-6667499One of my sorority sisters would definitely be happy that I added this ONLY serious topic to the list.  I’m at an age where finances are a major priority, and I need to consider it as much.  I’m the type of girl who likes to shop on a really good day, on a really bad day, or maybe when I just feel like making my tiny NYC apartment more comfortable.  Regardless, taking charge with my personal credit needs to happen.  More recently, oddly enough, it even makes me feel prettier inside to know that all of my bills are paid.  On time.  Go figure.

Find a Husband – Kind Of, But Not Really

imagesI am 25 years old.  I’m not sure if many of you are aware, but that is the age when we, as a society, for whatever reason expect for people to “get serious and settle down”.  Well.  I seriously LOVE my profession, and I seriously LOVE where I’m going, but I have not met someone who I can be serious enough with to spend the rest of my life.  I’ve read a number of articles of why you shouldn’t sell yourself short and settle, but I am 25 years old.  I am tired of men thinking that they no longer have to woo a woman in today’s day and age.  If I respect myself enough to act as a true woman, then, as a man, you should respect me enough to court me.  Men throughout history have fought for women; not the other way around.  For 2014, I would like to only consider men who will at least have a chance of being someone of a lifetime; I’m not at all about wasting time.  Maybe I will try something new and experiment with this internet dating shindig.  (Be surprised if I don’t end up on sugardaddie.com – only joking.  They’re all old and withering away.)

All in all, those are my resolutions for 2014.  We’ll see how far they go; I’m sure the Angels’ diet will last until I make an impromptu trip to Buffalo Wild Wings and I’ll probably get another dog before a man.  But hey!  Life’s all about choices, right?

Happy New Year!
